So I finally jumped on the Franken bandwagon. I started with a shitty old polish in a mini bottle and cleaned it out with acetone. It actually took quite a while to get it all the way clean since I couldn't really reach the inside. Using a pipe cleaner really helped get the polish gunk off the inside of the bottle.
I used a total of 14 polishes, kind of a ton lol. I wanted to make coral, but didn't want to start with a coral base. It felt like cheating :P.
Pretty gold shimmer
Pretty!
See the glass flecks?
Then I crackled them just for fun!
Here is a cellphone pics that shows the more orangey side.
Like it? Like to franken?
Wow!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!
I love it!
Thanks!! :D
ReplyDeleteOOOO Pretty, it's almost like Zoya Happi.
ReplyDeleteHmm yea. I like Zoya Happi and don't have it, so that's good! lol
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Awesome first time! :)
ReplyDeleteLooks great! I wouldn't even know where to start with making a franken.
ReplyDeleteI just started with an idea of coral and shimmer lol. I feel like you should probably start with an idea because if you just start mixing colors, some colors mixed together make poopyness. I just dripped polish into the bottle from the brush, drop by drop. Totally wrote down the recipe too :D.
ReplyDeleteWow that's really pretty for a first franken! I haven't tried it yet, I'm too afraid of ending up with something unusable and it being a waste of polish. :(
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. What did you name your lovely?
ReplyDeleteI totally haven't named it yet. Help me!! I forgot to ask :D.
ReplyDeleteHow did you get the brush clean from the old crappy bottle? Mine is all like solid after using regular nail polish remover.
ReplyDeleteCute!
