Happy Halloween!

I did something simple for Halloween this year. I've been working on nail strengthening and really busy with school and wedding planning. I used some fun Halloween polishes!

It's the red in the Funky Fingers 2011 Halloween set. They're unnamed. I topped it with WetNWild Tangled in My Web and a Pumpkin Polish glitter.

Here is the pumpkin polish I got from Rite Aid. It's orange foil hex and bar glitter. It is horrible quality lol, but still fun. They really stick up and are hard to place.

This is Tangled in My Web, flat black hex glitter.

And here is the red all by itself. Gorgeous rich red that is vampy without being too dark, shimmer with a little frost. I totally painted this in the car haha. Not too shabby right?

This year for Halloween we stayed home and gave out candy :).
 I made the bowl :).

Jeremy and I carved a pumpkin together. He wanted it to be a vampire lol!

Autumn Crafts!

You guys know I'm not only about nail polish and makeup, but also anything crafty (which to me includes polish and makeup). I made this wreath for the fall season :D.

Here is a close up.

I started with a plain grape vine wreath and used all natural items to decorate it. I used dried flowers from my garden, black beard wheat, and orange seed pods.

Seasonal crafts are so much fun. Have you done any this year?

Nails for a Cause: Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime. To the survivors, the people struggling with it today, and the people who are worried they might get it, this is for you.
I wanted to do something pink and feminine. This is two coats of OPI Excuse Moi from the new Muppets collection.

Excuse Moi has a pink jelly base with loads of pink microgiltter and some silver microglitter. There is a lot of small hex glitter in loads of colors - silver, yellow, green, pink, orange, and blue. I originally thought it was iridescent, but it's not. The application was great and looked pretty good even at one coat. Everything is great, except I've found superglitters like this chip more than other polishes.

This is her darker side, and I think is looks like a strawberry with all those seeds. At certain angles the glitter really darkens up like this.

And here's her brighter side.

And ladies, don't forget to rub your boobs! Here are boobs in support of people with breast cancer!

Save the tatas!

Free Target Beauty Bag

I got my free Target Beauty Bag that was available a few weeks ago. They did one last year as well. It's a package of free samples and coupons that comes in a cute zippy bag.

It's so cute! Even nicer and a little bigger than last year.
It came with free samples of Loreal Youth Code face lotion, Burt's Bees day lotion, Pond's evening sooth face wipes, Tresemme Naturals s/c, Garnier Fructis s/c, and John Freida s/c. It also came with a Target coupon for all these items and a few more.

Honestly it kinda sucked...but it was freeee!!! The best part is the bag lol. I used the face wipes and they're nice, and I will use the John Freida hair stuff, but that's really it. Anyone want to trade some random cheap stuff for some samples lol?

Essie Peach Daiquiri

My mum sent me some pics for a blog post :D. This is Essie Peach Daiquiri, a nice pinky coral.

This is two coats and fully opaque. My mother insists that Kate Middleton has worn this color before lol. Let me know if you find proof of that.

She even did some nail art with her Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen she got after she loved mine so much. It's so cute! They're little daisies or like dandelion puffballs. She's so proud of her nail art :).

Does your mom do her nails too?

Birchbox October

I got my October Birchbox a few days ago. Here is the info about it if you don't know what it is.

Here is exactly what I got in my box.
I'm honestly really unimpressed with this month's box. I know a lot of girls got other things. I really wanted the lip duo with the scrub and serum. I actually got Blinc mascara for the second time, so if you want to swap for it let me know. The only thing I'm happy with in this box is the face scrub.

Please list your BB posts for this month in the comments! What did you get?

Gel Liner in a Tube

Noticed the gel liner craze, with the little pot and the eyeliner brush? Well Tarte Aqua-Gel Eyeliner is like that, but in a normal eyeliner twist tube. Here is what the tube looks like, except mine is cooler cause it's the TrueBlood version :D.
Here is the Tarte website on it. I love how it's made with some natural ingredients and free of petroleum products!
Now I'm not that great at applying things like this, so try not to take this too specifically lol. Whatever imperfections you have while applying it are easily smoothed out when you put your eyeshadow on. What I can tell you is that it's awesome. It glides on like a liquid liner, but it's more firm like the gel liner. It's better because it's in stick form so you can just twist it up and you don't need a brush. It's long lasting, smudge proof, and doesn't flake off.

See! You can't even tell I messed up now! This liner is black black, blacker than the website pics. If it looks a little grayed out here it's because I put gray eyeshadow over it :).

Here is the finished eye. Bold and awesome!

And the finished face, with my Urban Decay Pocket Rocket Lipgloss in Jesse

Brown Eyeshadow and Liquid Liner

Here is my eye of the day - brown, natural, but with more bold liner
I used Too Faced Liquif Eye to make Tarte Werewolf (dark brown) into a liquid liner. I lined my upper lash line and the outer corner on the bottom.

I smudged MAC Swiss Chocolate (autumn brown) along the lash line and about half way up the lid.

Then I finished off the top of the lid, above the brown, with Urban Decay Polyester Bride (ivory shimmer).

The total look wearing MAC Gem of Roses on my lips.

Manis for a Cause: Infant Loss and Awareness

I love doing manis for a cause. October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. Yes I know I'm late, but it's still important to me. It doesn't need to be on our minds only once a year. For many people, it is in their minds every single day. I have never had to deal with this tragedy, but some people I love very much have. You know who you are, and I'm so sorry for your loss.

I used 2 coats each of OPI Sparrow Me the Drama for the pink and Zoya Breezi for the blue. Each was dotted with the opposite color with my small dotting tool. Then I stamped with Konad white on the ring fingers - a heart with wings for spirits of the lost.
Here is a close up of my accent nail stamp (BM03) and the awareness ribbon.
Some of the other lovely bloggers I know also did manicures for this cause:

To baby Eli, Bryttan, and the babies who were never even named, to their families - I'm so sorry you never got the chance to experience life. It's not fair, and I won't forget you.

Secret Pumpkin!!!

I mentioned that my group is in the middle of Secret Pumpkin in a recent post. I received my package the other day! Yay!!! We haven't quite made the decision of whether or not to disclose who sent our packages yet, so for not it's still a pumpkin secret!!

She included a cute list of what's in the package like a Birchbox card!

I loved the cute crayon pumpkin decorations on the package and notes :D

She made me an awesome bracelet and it totally fits. I have tried making complex bracelets like this before and it takes ages and I never finish them so kudos to my pumpkin!!

She also sent me a ton of frankening supplies. Woah!! There are round glitters, flaky glitters, and pearly shimmers. Not to mention the cute home made glitter scoop. Now will someone please tell me which ones I should use first and with what? :D

Here are all the awesome nail polish magnets she made me. How freaking cool! There are Halloween themed, glow in the dark,  glittery, and pretty ones.

I wanted to get a little creative and not use all of them on my fridge, so I found magnetic surfaces in my house and used them as decoration. I put one on my ginko metal wall art, one on each side of our iron bed head board, some on my office cork/magnet board, some on the fridge of course, and some Halloweeny ones on my fireplace. Awesome!

Here are the ones on my fridge. She also sent me the card with the trees on it to congratulate us on our engagement! I think I might request pics of peoples' fridges cause I think it's fun. You can see some places we traveled, our sense of humor, things we find pretty, family, so much!

Thanks so much Secret Pumpkin! This is so much fun! Be sure to let me know what you got if you're doing Secret Pumpkin!!!
