Rainbow Nails Banned in Olympics?

I just saw this in the news and had to post it for you guys.
Emma Green Tregaro, a Swedish Olympic athlete, painted her nails rainbow colors for the Olympics. Apparently many Olympic athletes are painting their nails in rainbow colors to protest against Russia's "no gay propaganda" law.

Here are her nails up close, which she posted on instagram.
Here are her thoughts on the subject and her nails, from a different article:
Tregaro, who placed fifth at Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium, said she was “surprised by the big reaction” but happy because it has “mostly been very positive,” reported AP. She added that “it was harder to notm paint [the fingernails] in the rainbow than it was to choose to paint them.”Talking to Swedish media, the high jumper explained that in her view, “love for another person is the most beautiful thing in the world, and that's what I want to show, no matter the gender or whatever.” However, after Swedish athletics officials asked her to “please respect the rules” and change the color of her nails, Green Tregaro decided “to paint them red instead, for love.”
I find this pretty interesting. It isn't just nail bloggers and polish enthusiasts painting their nails for a cause. Even Olympic athletes risk their participation to make a statement that supports equality and love. I'm really moved by their effort and appalled by Russia's new law.
What do you think about this?

Blarg!!

Omfg I swear every time I get my nails just right...one breaks. I really need to start using my Nail Envy more often again. I promise I'm alive, I'm just super busy with work and preparing for baby. And with my stupid nails it makes new posts difficult.

So much for pregnancy making your nails better! Is it time to just go to round nubs?

My First Cult Nails - Captivated

I finally got my hands on my very first Cult Nails! I have wanted this one for ages now! Can you believe I didn't know she was an Indie company until less than a year ago?

I couldn't wait to see this on my toes!

It's an awesome pinky red jelly with iridescent glitter in different sizes - medium and small hex.

I love the unique pinky red jelly base and the glitter combo!

The glitter makes me think of China Glaze Snowglobe and it shines so many different colors!

And a bottle shot. I really love her bottle shape and size!

Yay for my first Cult Nails!!

Rainbow Cheetah!

My friend on Facebook did a cheetah mani that was white with shades of pink, and I just loved it! I had to do one! I have never done a cheetah print mani, but it was fun!
Rainbow Cheetah!!!

I used a base color of Zoya Carey and just a random cheap black and a tiny paint brush for the cheetah spots. The colors are Zoya Breezi (blue), China Glaze Sunshine Pop (yellow), China Glaze Gaga for Green (green), Zoya Kieko (purple), and China Glaze Make Some Noise (pink).

Here is Zoya Carey by itself with two coats, just a nice grey creme.

You like the fun rainbow cheetah? I love it!

Lush Haul and Oatifix Mask Review

Lush haul!!! I'm so amazingly glad we have a Lush store now. You have no idea.
Godiva shampoo bar, Jumping Juniper shampoo bar, Oatifix fresh face mask, and Fair Trade Honey shampoo sample

It's made with banana, almonds, oatmeal, vanilla, and more. They are $6.95 and the lady told me they last for 3 weeks in the fridge and you get about 3 face masks from them. I only needed a little for this mask (above pic), and I got about 5 masks from it. It lasted longer than 3 weeks for sure. Maybe the potency of the ingredients fades or something?

Bare it all lol!! The mask felt nice and cool going on, soothing. I left it on for about 13 minutes (recommended 10). It tingled maybe like 10% and still does a good hour later. I have really sensitive skin and it definitely isn't painful or irritating. I have combination skin (dry and oily in different places) and am acne prone, but I also wanted one with a little exfoliation, so they recommended this one. I think the exfoliation comes from the ground almond and oatmeal and it's very light and gentle.
Here is a close up so you can see the texture of the mask. I really wasn't sure how much to put on so I just went with it. I definitely felt the creaminess all over my face even though it doesn't look like it's all over. And it smells just like banana nut bread mmmm!!!

I really like this mask! My skin felt perfectly balanced and moisturized and my skin looked a little brighter and more evenly toned. No more flaky dry patches either! I didn't even need to moisturize, I just toned after. Lets see how long this lasts and if it helps my break outs!

What are your favorite products from Lush, and how did you like any face masks you tried?

Rainbow Honey Fab Summer Set

This is a Rainbow Honey exclusive set available only on Fab.com.

It has three polishes - Tenda, Schrammi, and Costa del Sol

Tenda is a super bright creamy green with copper glassflecks. The coloring/brightness on both the pictures looks weird, but I didn't edit them. It shows that the shimmer appears more in the shade, and how bright the green can get with more light. This was two coats and the formula was nice.

Schrammi is a super cute tomato red with a touch of red coral and it has copper glassflecks and gold shimmer.

Costa del Sol is a gold glitter mix in a clear topcoat. It has large/medium/small holo hexes, glassflecks, and gold bars. This was one coat. The formula was good, but some of the bars curl a little. I suggest painting on Costa del Sol, letting it dry, trimming any curling glitter with cuticle nippers, then applying a thick top coat. It really wasn't that bad.

Here is a serious closeup of Costa del Sol. Very pretty!!
While most of her polishes are available on Rainbow Honey's website for $10 each, this set is exclusive to Fab.com. You can find it on Rainbow Honey's page on Fab.com for $25 for a full size set.

Zoya Irresistible Collection

This is the Zoya Irresistible collection for Summer 2013!

Zoya Rikki is a silvery forest green with gold/copper glassflecks.

All of these polishes have the same glassfleck metallic finish, so here is a close up.

Hazel is an ocean blue with a gold/copper duochrome.

You can really see the duochrome in this one! Wowza!

Bobbi is a fuchsia metallic with silver glassflecks.

Kerry is a golden yellow with yellow and copper metallic glassflecks. The copper makes a light duochrome.

Tinsley is a rose pink with gold glassflecks.

The gold really comes out in some lights.

Amy is a red orange with gold glassflecks.
All of these swatches were two coats and the formulas were great! My fav is probably Tinsley. Rikki is a little done with Ivanka and Logan, but it's pretty. I'm not big on yellows like Kerry, so I prefer a more metal toned yellow like Ziv. The finish on these is what really makes them stand out - those little metallic glassflecks.
You can get these polishes on Zoya's website - $48 for the collection of 6 or $8 for one.
If you sign up for an account with this link you'll receive a coupon for a free bottle of Zoya nail polish! If you add two more polishes to your order you even get free shipping. Awesome deal! So you could get this full collection for $40 and free shipping = $6.66 a polish.

Zoya Stunning Collection

This is the new Zoya Stunning Collection for Summer!

They're all cremes, and some have a little hidden silver shimmer in them!

Josie is a bright grass green with a bit more white in it.

Darcy is a bright marigold yellow with hidden silver shimmer. It can look more golden yellow and more highlighter yellow than this.

Micky is a pretty posie pink with silver shimmer.

Yana is a gorgeous fuchsia leaning a bit more red. The shade is just done so well! Go ahead! Compare it to your other similar pinks and I have a feeling this will win out.

Thandie is a creamy orange leaning a bit coral with silver shimmer. It's such a unique shade of orange and really does pick up coral tones throughout the day.

Rocky is a bright sky blue creme. Not very unique, but pretty! Sorry about the red fingers. Yana stained my skin a bit :/.

All of these formulas were good as usual. I only had issues with one or two because I kept bumping my nails when they were wet lol! So if you see anything that looks weird, that's why. These were all two coats, except the usual three coat yellow. My favorites are Thandie and Yana!

Joyful Noise Cosmetics Body Polish

Yum yum! Joyful Cosmetics does a lot more than nail polish!
This is JNC's foaming body polish. I love how pretty it is!

It's like a body cream made with shea butter, and it has jojoba beads and sugar in it for exfoliation. I tried Midnight Violet and Cucumber Melon scents. I'm not big on floral scents, but I know she'll make a bunch more scents if these go well.

I tried this on my elbows, knees, hands, and even my face! It isn't super scrubby for rough spots like knees and elbows, but works great for more sensitive areas with lighter dry skin like your hands and face. I would love to see her add a natural cleansing agent to this formula and make it into a face wash! It is a tiny bit drying, but you should put on lotion soon after washing your face in any case.

You can buy her foaming body polish in her Etsy shop for $2.50 for a 1oz jar. Like her on Facebook too!
AND because we love you, you can get free domestic shipping on all your orders over $10 at Joyful Noise Cosmetics for a limited time with this coupon code: RAINBOWS. Mention this blog post to also get 1-2 samples added to your order for free!

Bite Beauty Lippies

I tried out a new brand of lipstick (to me) at Sephora - Bite Beauty. This is the Bite Beauty Colour and Shine To Go set.
Top to bottom and left to right (swatches, the actual lippies are backwards lol) is Tannin, Cin Cin, and Champagne Pearl.

Tannin, Cin Cin, and Champagne Pearl
Tannin and Cin Cin are matte lipsticks, and Champagne Pearl is a nude lipgloss.

Tannin - Definitely looks like a mlbb (my lips but better) color here.

Tannin - You can see the color a lot better in this one! It's a nude mlbb color, but with an earthy orange terracotta tinge.

Cin Cin

Cin Cin is a rich wine red, darker than true red.

Champagne Pearl

Champagne pearl is a nude sheer lipgloss that is tinted...well champagne really does sound appropriate lol. It also has shimmer.

The pigment of the lippies was...okay. Cin Cin showed up nicely, but Tannin wasn't very intense. The most annoying part was the application/formula. They were just really patchy and wouldn't go on evenly. I felt like they highlighted the imperfections of my lips rather than went on smoothly to make my lips more beautiful. You can see this more in the up close pictures, but in person they were even worse. The gloss, however, was great! No issues there at all.
I was so disappointing I actually returned the set. I wish I could have kept the gloss! I would never buy Bite Beauty lipstick again!

I'd love to hear your experience with Bite Beauty lippies. Anyone? Feel free to post your links to blog posts about Bite Beauty lippies.
