Megan Miller Coral Bliss

 Mmmm I am so in love with corals lately! It was even one of my wedding colors and I wore it on my nails! This is Megan Miller Coral Bliss!

 Coral Bliss is a gorgeous, very bright, Summer perfect, coral that leans more toward red than orange. It is definitely still overall pink though.

This is two coats and just like Roja, has about 98% opacity with two coats.  The formula was great and there wasn't any balding or difficulty in application like jellies sometimes have.

 Because I think it's really unique and important, I'll just quote what I said in my last post about the company in case you didn't read it: "OMG the bottles! Coral Bliss is a jelly so you can wear it alone with 2-3 coats, add a coat on top of another color to make it more coral, or make a jelly sani like this! This is two coats of Coral Bliss, one coat of China Glaze Techno, and one more coat of Coral Bliss. Yum!!

Megan Miller Roja

 I have been eyeing Megan Miller polishes for ages now. Adorable bottle, that cork top, the raffia accent, the font, the peacock feather logo....we all know that cuteness totally matters!

 This is two coats of Megan Miller Roja. She is a lovely mili-shade darker than true red jelly. Nice and buildable!

You want to know what's really exciting? Roja is a jelly, not a creme!

Hello jelly sanis! This is two coats of Roja, one coat of Shimmer Polish Trisha, and one more coat of Roja. The brush is great, the formula is great. No patchiness, balding, nothing. It is like 98% opaque in two coats so perfect for jelly lovers and people who hate visible nail line because it's so buildable.

This is what makes Roja truly unique. More and more companies are coming out with jellies now as the consumers are loving that shiny jelly finish and the unlimited possibilities jellies allow for. I have seen teal, pink, purple, red violet, hot pink, but never ever a true red. Awesome and fun!

My First Glitter Sani!

I haven't tried a glitter sandwich until today! In case you don't know what a glitter sandwich (/sammy/sami/sani) is, it's glitter layered between coats of a jelly polish so you can still see the glitter through it. I picked up 3 of the 4 Revlon Just Tinted polishes because they're all jellies and I don't have enough jellies :D.

This is Revlon Dawn from the Just Tinted collection.

This is the glitter I used, two different ones. The left is a tiny round/irregular/flaky pink iridescent glitter, and the right is a small pink iridescent glitter. I got these on super discount from Michael's for 50cents a bottle. Typically, you would use a glitter polish in a glitter sani, but I wanted to use some of my dry glitter just for fun.

Here it is on my first nail after two coats of Dawn. I sprinkled it on really quick after I painted the second coat on so it would still be wet, so I didn't get a pic of her on her own. The pics give you a good idea though, just minus the glitter. Squint :P.

Here are my other nails after the glitter, before the next coat of jelly polish. You can see in this one and the thumb pic that Dawn (and assumedly the others from this collection) dries to a somewhat suede finish - in between matte and glossy. I believe this is what we call a sorbet finish.

Here it is after one coat of Dawn on top, three coats total. You can see the glitter more in real life because the iridescence catches the light more.

Isn't she lovely here? Dawn is quite corally, leaning towards a juicy berry pink. I really can't decide which. I love her jelly feature. I keep thinking it looks like I just stuck my fingers into a ripe strawberry! With three coats there is a still a bit of vnl, though it's diffused by the glitter. I really don't mind some vnl with polishes like this, just not a ton.

OPI Heart Throb

OPI Heart Throb is a sweet bubblegum pink sheer. I got this thinking it would be opaque. That's what I get for trusting the bottle lol. It's still super cute though. This is after white tips and 3 coats...or maybe 2 lol...I can't remember.

The tips were done by hand with a Sally Hansen Nail Art Pen. I like these pens when it comes to nail art that is in small parts. But I find that when I do bigger things, like french tips, the "formula" dries weird and cracks.

 

You can see that effect in the above picture a little more. I think this has something to do with the fact that the Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens are a "quick drying formula" and not actually nail polish. I have never noticed this problem when doing normal nail art like dots, little flowers, etc. 

I took this picture from farther away to demonstrate what it looks like from a normal distance. I really don't think the odd cracking tips are noticeable to everyone else, just to me since I closely analyze my nails lol.

Anyone know of a pretty pink creme that is totally opaque?
