Polished Men

I seem to have been running into more male nail bloggers lately...and I like it! It's just so new, different, and fresh! I feel immediately drawn to people like these men who don't let society get them down and who are free spirits. I thought I'd highlight some of these polished men today so you can follow and see what you think.

Steve from Lacquer Man views nail polish as not inherently female. It's "just paint"! You have to be bold and confident to wear nail color as a man, he says. Follow him on Facebook!

Scott from One Gents Ten is a 20-something guy who likes working on cars, some "traditionally feminine pursuits," and I think he's really creative with nail art if you check is blog.  Follow him on Twitter or Facebook!

Jim from Men and Nail Polish is a hard working manly man who likes bright toes and dark nails. I love how he posts with cool manly props in some of his photos!

How cool is this! Does anyone love this as much as I do? I'm just so happy to see the world changing and the minds of people widening. You want to know something else interesting? None of these men are gay. Newsflash rest of the world - what you wear/do/say/have on your nails doesn't determine your gender, sex, sexuality, or anything. So get over it and start accepting people for the way they are, and stop fearing people who are different. GO male nail bloggers, and kudos to your cause!

  2. You are so kind! Thank you very much! If anyone is interested to see more nailblogs from men, I have (ironically enough) segregated blogrolls on my blog - my "Men's Nail Blogs" lists eight blogs at this time...

I want to thank you, and all the incredibly wonderful people in the nail fanatic community, for the kindness and acceptance I've felt from all of you!

    1. I LOVE it thank you! This has a real double meaning for me. I absolutely BAWLED when I opened this picture. If you read my About Me page, my beloved Nana and I used to paint each others toes all different colors. The memory just caught me so off guard in such a good way. Thank you thank you Steve! :)

    2. Megan... last Tuesday night, my left pinky toe and right big toe got kinda close to my SC "24/7"(pink) polish, in advance of "Pink Weds".... but otherwise, I'm still wearing my skittle toes for you, and still grinning every time I see them! <3

  7. Thanks for this post! I found 2 new to me blogs. Jim from Men & Nail Polish has the nicest feet ever.

My boyfriend occasionally paints his toes but the results are just hilarious. You can see a couple of them here. http://concreteandnailpolish.blogspot.com/search/label/Will
These are some hairy man feet, not the nicely groomed kind in the blogs you listed. But I promise they are entertaining!

    Thanks again for this post.

    1. April - Will's "Wolfman" pedi is just hilarious! You're right - even without the moustache glued on his toes, he has some damm hairy "Fred Flintstone" feet!! I've been told to shave my toes, for like 6 little hairs on the big toe, but I won't do it. What matters is that you have a great guy with a great attitude!

  10. Awesome post! I'm new to the game as of Dec. '11, but am working hard to get caught up, lol!

Have had the toes constantly polished since that point, and my left pinky finger nail. Makes me smile and I wish that I had become involved sooner!

  11. PR, there are a LOT more men out there who wear their nails polished than you may have realized. Many wear their toenails polished but may not show them in public for fear of being shunned or called 'gay'. That was me a few years ago but my wife actually encouraged me to just disregard those closed-minded people because she liked how it looked.
Since then I have been wearing my toenails polished pretty much all of the time. It feels and looks great and I really enjoy a pedicure now and then too.

Guys wearing nail polish will be as common as men wearing earrings soon, I guarantee you!

    1. I certainly hope so! I can't wait to see that! I still haven't seen any men wearing nail polish in person...other than my husband :P. He won't wear it in public though.

  13. Right you are Jake, who'd ever think that a guy like me would get into the toenail polish. For me it's like that pair of shoes your mom and dad buys and you think it can make you run fast when you're a kid, that and it really dresses up the dogs. I love the way it looks and the gelish stuff out today is like rhino lining for the feet. If your a guy and run marathons I would recommend trying it.

  14. I started blogging about men who like their nails painted about 7 or 8 years ago. I still get 2-300 views a day on my page, so there are a LOT of guys interested in doing this, and a lot who just do it. You can check out my blog at www.menwithpaintednails.blogspot.com if you would like to read me and see some of my many photos.
