Watch Over Me

I cried when I got this nail mail. That doesn't often happen. It was just this little green polish with the usual business card, but there was a note on the back:
"Sandy Hook donation polish. 100% of the profits from every purchase goes to the Newtown Animal Center in memory of Catherine Hubbard."
The bottle was even tied with a pawprint ribbon. I know Jody from SoFlaJo loves animals too, so I believe she chose this way to reach out and show her compassion for the people so drastically effected by this tragedy. I'm still getting waves of full body goose bumps even writing this. Interestingly enough the song that just came on my playlist is Coldplay - I'll See You Soon.
Kudos to you Jody. I really appreciate the value of this sentiment.

SoFlaJo Watch Over Me
...so aptly named...We all need someone watching over us. And we can all be that someone for others.

Watch Over Me is a lovely earthy slightly olive green with gold and green shimmer and gold microflakies. Two coats was great coverage and no formula issues at all. This is a really flattering green that just makes me want to squish an avocado on my nails.

I love it in the different lights too. The shimmer definitely isn't hidden and didn't show up as much in the crappy Winter sunlight as it did in person. I can't get over the meaning behind this polish. SO beautiful.
SoFlaJo polishes are $10 for a regular size, and $5 for a mini. This polish is only sold in full size, as all the profits go to charity.
Check her out on Facebook, oogle at the polishes in her store, and she also has an Etsy shop!

Yule Tidings!

Aahhh the Christmas season! There are so many holiday collections coming out. It's nice to see some that branch out a bit, like this Yule polish! Yule is the Pagan version of Christmas (from what I know). It's on Winter Solstice (December 21st) and celebrates the sun coming back after the longest night of the year. Lots of things that are symbols in Christmas (holly, mistletoe, ivy, pine boughs, Wassail, egg nog, etc) are common to Yule. So here is SoFlaJo Yule Tidings from her Party Time collection!

This is a lovely olive green polish with shimmer, small red and green glitters, and large silver holo hexes. It went on great with two coats! I love the olive green color and the base filled with shimmer. That's what makes it unique for me.

Mmm look at all that gold shimmer! This is a really pretty polish!! I love how the base is just sheer enough to add depth when you do more than one coat. I'm sure you'd get even more depth with three coats, but two was enough for opacity.
Her polishes are $10 for a regular size, and $5 for a mini.
Check her out on Facebook, oogle at the polishes in her store, and she also has an Etsy shop!

Like her polishes? She's having a Cyber Monday sale on her website (Etsy not included)! You'll get free shipping with ant order that's $20 or over, both US and international!!

SoFlaJo Buttercup

Meet SoFlaJo Buttercup from her limited edition Spring Flowers collection! She's a medium golden buttery yellow polish with yellow/silver shimmer.

This is three coats. There is a little visible nail line, but it's harder to see than it looks in the pictures. I don't mine it. This is a really pretty polish that really does remind be of a buttercup!

Here is two coats so you can see the opacity.

She always sends her packages with cute things like confetti, a prize, and a ribbon on the bottle.

I love versatile polishes! This is one coat of Buttercup over black. It turns a dark yellow green shimmer and looks super interesting!

SoFlaJo has been making things like this since the 1980's and just started up again in the past year or so. You can get her polishes at her Etsy shop or her blog shop. They're $5 for a mini and $10 for a large bottle. Which are your favorite SoFlaJo polishes?

SoFlaJo Pendragon

Jody at SoFlaJo has created her own line of nail polish! Her first collection Year of the Dragon includes 8 sparkling multichrome topcoats. I love her inspiration behind naming this collection after her totem animal and guardian, the dragon. Courtesy of Jody, I have swatches of one of those polishes for you today - Pendragon.
Pendragon is a multichrome glitter topcoat that flashes copper, rose, pewter, amber, autumn yellow, and green. The glitter is a fine holo glitter. Fine enough that you can easily skip a top coat, and it's also easy to remove. This is one coat of Pendragon over Joe Fresh Peacock, a metallic dark blue, and Funky Fingers black creme on the ring finger.
Here you can see some green, yellow, and amber.

Here is the pretty soft rosey pink, and the amber.

The green really shows in the sunlight on the far left nail. The colors most often seen in any light are rose and amber.

When I got this polish in the mail, I was wearing Girly Bits Sailor's Delight, so I put it over that too. It really oranged up the red orange, added tons more glitter, and gave it the awesome amber/rose multichrome effect! These Year of the Dragon polishes are so dynamic!

Just for fun, I swatched Pendragon on paper over a bunch of different colors and posted the coolest ones.
Pendragon over Funky Fingers black creme
Pendragon over Diamond Cosmetics Chainmail
Pendragon over Joe Fresh Peacock
Pendragon over Zoya Gemma
Pendragon over OPI Sparrow Me the Drama
Pendragon over Zoya Cola
Pendragon over Zoya Valerie

Isn't this a cool polish? Jamie at Nails Adored swatched the entire collection and put it all in one pic so you can see the others too:
These are just topcoats over black, but they have so much power! I really like this collection. If you like what you see, you can purchase SoFlaJo's Year of the Dragon collection you can buy them in her blog shop for $5 each. Love?!

SoFlaJo!

The lovely Jody from SoFlaJo sent me one of the polishes in her first collection to review. The Year of the Dragon is an amazing multichrome collection. Look at swatches of the complete collection at Nails Adored. Here is the cute little package Jody sent me.

All of her packages come with cute stuff and a theme. I love that! She even taped the bubble wrap with red and black dragon tape! You can even request a theme from her if you like, which makes it even more fun!

Here is a bottle shot of SoFlaJo Pendragon. MMMMMmmmMMM!!1!!!11 It looks like copper holo glitter chromey heaven!
