Polish Jewelry: To Polish or Not

I got some awesome polish jewelry recently from To Polish or Not! She made three custom pieces for me.
 How cute is her packaging!?

Here are my three pieces together.

The earrings are gorgeous glittery rainbows with some OPI Black spotted!

They make really cute chunky studs! They have a nice thick black coating on the back to seal the polish in and are comfortable to wear. She attached the earring stud higher up on the back of the heart instead of in the middle, so it a better fit on my ear.

I also got this fabulous galaxy ring! I asked her to make a galaxy ring for me that had lots of different colors in it so it would go with pretty much anything. She made more than 6 for me to choose from!

The polishes she used are multichromatic so they look different from every angle! She also added some fine holo glitter and hand painted stars. From this angle it looks mauve, teal, and blue...

Pink, teal, and purple...

Amber, pink, silver, light blue, and blue violet...

Black, red, orange, teal, dark blue...

Bright pink, blue, and purple...

There are so many colors in this! It looks really well made and I love it! The ring base is absolutely gorgeous with the scrolls and swirls, but it isn't the most comfortable. At the bottom where it adjusts it can sometimes pinch a little. It seems to be because the metal of the band is so thin. It's sterling silver plated, and despite the thin design, it's very sturdy. There was also a small bump on the side that looked perfectly fine but was a bit scratchy...just a minor flaw from the producer of the bands. I carefully filed it down and it feels much better minus the tiny patch or two where I missed and nicked through the silver. I've seen many other sellers use this exact band, so I don't blame To Polish or Not, but the producer of the bands. Honestly the issues are minor anyway! She has plenty of other band choices, and I chose this one.

She also made a necklace that would go with everything for me! I chose this pretty tear drop pendant. It is painted and set very nicely and looks great in all lights. Yea I know, those are my scars from my microdermal piercings. They used to look so cool :/.

It has so many colors and looks different from every angle! I love the swirly almost fiery pattern she made in this!

Holo glitter, teal, dark blue, dark orange...

 Hot pink, light blue, orange...

Orange, pink, purple, silver, green, blue...

It looks completely different in the shade! Lavender, red orange, pink, dark blue, teal, silver...

Golden yellow, blue green, green, orange, light pink, hot pink, magenta...So many colors!! I love rainbowy stuff like this :).

I absolutely loved the polish jewelry pieces that To Polish or Not made for me! I was a very picky customer I have to say, but she dealt with my requests, tweaks, and ideas with grace and perfection. It was really important to her that I got a piece I liked and she made SO  many different ones for me to choose from, all based on my specifications. Her customer service was truly fabulous. She just really makes me feel like she takes care in her work and loves what she does. She even drew a butterfly on my package per my request :P!

Seriously, check out her Facebook page for pictures of some of the things she's made (including these)! She can make you anything you have in your mind! I have worn these pieces with so many things, for days and days in a row, and received loads of compliments.
These items were provided to me for my unbiased review.

Haul: Custom Polish Jewelry, Barielle, Butter London

I've been having good nail mail days lately!
Today I got my three pieces of custom nail polish jewelry from To Polish or Not and I freaking LOVE them!
This pic isn't even in sunlight. She does awesome custom work and will put pretty much anything you have in your head into a piece of polish jewelry...as you can see :D.

I also got the two new Fall/Winter collections from Barielle: Runway Fever and New York Style.

I just reviewed Runway Fever (on the left) and am working my way through the second collection. Fun!

And I grabbed two Butter London polishes from the recent sale at Ulta: Knackered and Black Knight. This makes four total for me. Did you get any?

Who doesn't love getting pretty much any package, especially nail mail!?

Polish Jewelry Glitter Bomb Ring

I love making anything crafy, and polish jewelry is extra fun! I just did custom request for a super glitter bomb pretty much every color ring :). Here is my happy customer and friend Amanda wearing it :D.
I packaged it up all cute too, I love doing that :D.
(Amanda's Instagram)

I used 15 polishes in this ring! Here is a pretty close up view of the glitter.

I use a UV resin and love how cool it makes everything look :P.

I love how you can see the detail even in the shade, right down to the tiny particles of holo glitter!

Polish Jewelry - First Try

I've been crafty all my life, and making jewelry for years, but this is the first time I have tried to make polish jewelry! Behold!
I wanted pink earrings because I'm an earring whore and have no pink earrings. I didn't want just polish colors, but something fun...then I got the free nail wheel in that a bunch of us got ages ago from FB or something..and it had flower rhinestones. Cherry blossoms! It's Zoya Meadow with Soho Punch and OPI Teenage Dream as the base color. The branches are Barry M Dusky Mauve. This is a picture before the resin so it isn't filled up.

Stuff looks so awesome under a black light! I used UV resin and my fluorescent blacklight to cure it.

I love hair accessories so had to make some of those too!

Zoya Rica

China Glaze Atlantis

I'm sporting the teal one here!

I'm also working on polish bobby pins too (under blacklight). Stay tuned!

If you'd like some custom polish jewelry, or really anything as you can see, Facebook message me or email me at itsrainingstars13@hotmail.com with an obvious  subject like "Polish Jewelry" or something so I don't miss it :).

Jewelry Made with Nail Polish! - GingerKitty Designs

I was one of GingerKitty's giveaway winners! Follow her on Facebook and visit her Etsy store to see more polish jewelry! I won the gorgeous necklace that she made painted with Clarins 230, or as we bloggers and polish lovers call it, Unicorn Pee. It's so rare it's like having a bottle of Unicorn Pee :P.

How cute is her packaging right? It came way before I thought it would and arrived all cute like in this! She even bubble wrapped around it, and put it in a bubble mailer, just in case :).

I snapped a quick pic for ya'll in the car with my cellphone, so I wasn't even trying and look how good it looks then!
So this is basically what it looks like on a bad day :P. I took loads of pictures of it just hanging around my neck, and a few tilted just the right way to show all the other colors. I think it's really important to note what it looks like just wearing it, since that's what you see most of the time. These are the necklace just around my neck, so it totally looks this gorgeous all the time!!!

Here are some other ones trying to capture all of its beauty.

This last one is with flash, but wow.

I make jewelry myself, so I can say with confidence that her product is definitely quality. It is made well and put together sturdily so that it isn't going to break in like a week. The the top of the pendant is in a super cute scroll heart pattern, which I love. It's really smooth and fabulous and that pendant doesn't feel loose or like the front is going to come off or anything at all. I probably wouldn't wear it in the shower, but I don't normally wear my jewelry in the shower or pool anyway, so we're good there. The only remotely negative thing I could ever have to say about this piece is that the chain makes a faint noise when I move and the pendant slides around slightly - and that noise is annoying. It's like a soft metallic scraping noise. Other than that, this necklace is amazing and perfect! Thank you so much Tracey for the gorgeous polish piece!

She makes all sorts of jewelry related items from nail polish, and can use any polish you want. Check out her Etsy store! She does jewelry with loads of different brands and types of polish, including glitter, flakies, linear holos, shatter, and even Konad patterns. Some of my favs are (click on pic to go to item):

I could list like 10 more things, but go check for yourself and tell me what you like! I want to know if you buy anything too because I'm totally considering it :P.

Love it?

Pearly Present

Yay I got a package from Jeremy! I have been waiting...and waiting...and waiting for this. Things have been going on in Bahrain and they shut down communication for a while, and the post office for a week or more. It's finally here! He sent me some fun stuff for sure!

Fun food items that are super hard to get here or just cool and Bahraini: coconut powder (he knows I love cooking), orange lentils for my super awesome low cal soup, gum with Arabic writing cause I like gum and it's cool lol, Meltesers (English brand chocolate malted milk balls), Hula Hoops (English potato loop chip things :P), and an awesome Ed Hardy-looking beach towel that says "live to love" and "Bahrain". I live at the freaking beach now and didn't have a cool beach towel, until now. Jealous no? :D

AND he sent me something really special. I'm not sure if it's for my birthday (May 4th), our anniversary (May 20th), or a "just because I love you" gift. Either way I'm happy!
He sent me a lovely set of salt water pearls, and I think he's just excited for me to receive them as I am. The earrings are cultured teardrop pale cream pearls, and the necklace is a graduated strand of naturally occurring pale cream irregular pearls - naturally occurring like actually found at the bottom of the ocean instead of a farm. Freaking awesome!
So I'm kind of expanding my blog a little into the realm of other things I love. Not so much expanding as just feeling like I'm allowed to blog about other awesome things too. I figure "Painting Rainbows" can encompass all things creative, which includes nail polish, arts and crafts, jewelry and such :D. I just wanted to show off my pretties that I'm all excited about :D.
Do you like pearls? Do you have any pearls? Does it matter to you if they're real pearls, fake pearls, cultured pearls, or natural pearls? I have plenty of jewelry made with fake (glass, plastic, etc) pearls, but it's nice to have some real ones too!
